For the buffer, I would get Meguiars #80 or #83 for polishing. Scratch-X may gum up your pads. After #80 or #83 several people use #7 applied by machine in a very thin layer for that really deep shine. Lastly the NXT Tech Wax can be applied by machine with a soft pad at a slower setting like 3. Some people like to also remove the wax using a fresh pad and a microfiber bonnet at a high speed like 5. I wouldn't use paste wax with foam pad, too dry and hard to use. Use the liquid versions of NXT Tech Wax and Gold Class.

Stone chips are beyond most DIY people. What seems to work for some people is a product called Langka that chemically smooths the paint blob after the touchup paint dries.

Lastly, to get that really deep shine that you can see yourself in you may have to change the color of your car. Silver will never really shine like a dark color.

I wash the car first, then clay, then the next step depends on the finish.

If it's mild swirling caused by poor car washing/car washes then #80 is probably good enough, if the paint finish is exceptionally hard or the swirling was caused by poor polishing technique and #80 is not doing it for you then I would use #83. Wipe the excess polish off with an mf towel as you go before it dries. The buffer should be set to 5 and use about 4-5 lbs. of pressure and move slowly in about a 2' by 2' area at a time. If the swirls are barely visible, then I skip the polishing, the NXT Tech Wax will fill that in with minimal work.

After it's polished, I've put on #7 with the buffer set to 3, removed it by hand.

After #7 comes the NXT Tech Wax put on with the buffer set to 3 and either removed by hand or with a mf bonnet and the buffer set to 5

I don't think I would waste my time with Gold Class after NXT as it will more than likely remove the NXT and won't shine or protect any better. I would not use the cleaner paste wax as the clay will remove that. Don't use the buffer to remove dried in polish unless you want to create swirls, wipe it by hand as you go with an mf towel before it dries. Scratch-X and #3 are very mild polishes, the #80 will do all that and more.

Using your chart, I would do this -

          Meguiars Soft wash gel
          Dry
SKIP - Meguiars Cleaner Paste Wax (by hand)
SKIP - Buff of the above using PC7424 & Sonus Buffing Bonnet
          Meguiars Quick Clay (by hand)
SKIP - Meguiars ScratchX (by hand)
SKIP - Buff of the above using PC7424 & Sonus Buffing Bonnet
SKIP - Meguiars Machine Glaze #3 Using PC7424
SKIP - Buff of the above using PC7424 & Sonus Buffing Bonnet
Meguiars Speed Glaze #80 Using PC7424
SKIP - Buff of the above using PC7424 & Sonus Buffing Bonnet
Meguiars Nxt Tech Wax Using PC7424
Buff of the above using PC7424 & Sonus Buffing Bonnet
SKIP - Meguiars Gold Class Coat Car Wax (Paste) (by hand)
SKIP - Buff of the above using PC7424 & Sonus Buffing Bonnet

In theory I could skip most of previous applications and move on
to the below? Would you recommend anything else?

Meguiars Soft wash gel (two bucket)
            Dry
            Meguiars Quick Clay (by hand)
Meguiars Speed Glaze #80 Using PC7424

Remove above by hand using polishing cloth
            Meguiars Show Car Glaze #7
Remove above by hand using polishing cloth
            Meguiars NXT Tech Wax G12718
Remove above using PC7424 + bonnet on blue pad?

Is there anything else I can use once all the above has been
done to remove any bits that I missed i.e. Quik Detailer: Mist
and Wipe and then remove using PC7424 + bonnet on blue
pad? Or will I lose my shine?

Also could I not include my newly purchased Meguiars Machine
            Glaze #3 before using #7?

            Thank you in advance

#3 Glaze is made for use by a rotary buffer, not a pc. I don't think that you will need to even use #7 after using #40.

Just remove the missed bits with a soft 100% terry cloth or Microfiber polishing cloth. Don't use a QD after NXT. It needs to set u for 12 hours or so.

Sorry do you mean I will not need to use the #7 after using #80?

                Thank you

In my opinion you would not need to use #7 after #40.

My wife has a silver Toyota. I polished it with #83 and then went directly to NXT. It looks great. I do not top it with a carnauba wax, such as #16.

Silver is an easy color to make look "good". It will never look "deep".

#7 is certainly optional, I just found it gives metalic paints that extra pop, makes the flakes really stand out.
