  • Wheel Brightner

I have been wondering if wheel brightner is safe on all wheels? Factory clear coat, aluminum, chrome etc. what dilutions do you run for each of these wheels? Any special method for cleaning the different types of wheel?

    Re: Wheel Brightner

Well I use it on 99% of the cars I detail. But you have to be sure it won't mess them up.
If I'm ever not sure I put a little on my GLOVED finger and do a spot test for any reaction.
BARE ALUMINUM, Anodized or single stage painted rims is really the only thing you can't use it one.
If you seen my wright up on my rims you'll see what it does to Aluminum, it eats it. so you have polish out the "stain" if you accidental use it on bare Aluminum.

With varying dilution ratios it should be safe on the majority of wheels, but we do not recommend it for bare high polished aluminum wheels, anodized finishes or other very delicate surfaces. On factory OEM wheels it should be completely safe at 4:1 dilution but in most cases even at 8:1 dilution it can clean up all kinds of nasty brake dust. If the wheels are aftermarket but fully clear coated then it should be completely safe as well. Just watch out for the presence of aftermarket big brake kits with powerdercoated calipers, anodized brake hats, etc.
