  • Using IPA on a stone chip

I plan on fixing a stone chip in my Traverse. On another thread it was suggested to use 10% IPA to clean out the chip. The lowest I can find is70%. Will I do any damage by using 70% IPA? Or should I just do a spot wash on the chip to clean it out?

Just dilute it with water to get the concentration you want.
Example: 1 part 70% alcohol to 4 parts water = about 16% alcohol.

use it full strength on a Q-tip, a few times.
you want to make sure you don't have any oils in the chip from wax or the elements.
The paint won't stick if there is anything in the chip.
