  • Any difference in these clays??

Meguiar's c - 2000 mild clay and G1016 smooth clay kit from Walmart. I would like to just buy the clay, and not have to buy the kit each time. Is the c-2000 basically the same?
    Thank you,
    Chad

The C-2000 is a tiny bit more aggressive than the G1016, but still very mild. Unless you have very, very soft paint, you will not see much of a difference between the two.

The kit is a better deal if you think about it:
Kit includes 160g clay, QD, and a SS mf towel...whereas the tub of C2000 only gets you 200g clay.....I think the clay is pretty close in similarity.
I also believe the cost of the kit is like $18 at walmart....and the C2000 is likely more $$

C2000 is noticeably more aggressive than the consumer clay in the Smooth Surface Clay Kit. Whether going with it and a separate clay lube makes more sense for you than buying the Smooth Surface Clay Kit is a decision only you can make. Be aware that if you have super delicate paint the C2000 could cause some hazing, but it should be very light if indeed there is any at all. We would caution you to stay away from the C2100 Aggressive Red Clay unless you have extremely heavy contamination and fully intend to machine polish after claying. C2100 is so aggressive that it will likely haze paint no matter what.

The thing I have is I bought 2 large spray bottles of the Quick Detail. I do see your point in the closeness of the prices.
            Thank you
