  • Will a DA work as well as a rotary for removing sanding marks?

What I'm doing is trying to repair a scratch on my quarter panel. I'm filling in the scratch with paint, letting it dry and sanding it down. Sanding marks are from 600 800 1200 1500 marks. I'm using M105.

    Simple answer: No.

Can a DA remove sanding marks? Yes. Sometimes much better than others.

I'd suggest finishing with a finer grit than 1500 to make the DA's task a whole lot easier. I've removed 2000 grit marks with a DA, but your best bet would be to finish with 3000 grit if you can, then use the DA.
