      Re: D114 clay lube

I would generally say the Last Touch, although I havent compared prices.

Unless maybe your system was to wash then clay right way, then dry the panel, and just made for better time.

        Re: D114 clay lube

Stick with D155 diluted 1:1. We haven't seriously tested D114 as a clay lube so we aren't currently making a dilution recommendation. There's really no reason why it shouldn't be fine, we just haven't seriously addressed it as a clay lube since our D155 is so popular for this.

That is what I have been doing. Just wasn't sure if there where any down side to using D114 as a clay lube.

D114 diluted to the "dirty car" ratio 128:1 is all I use for a clay lube and have yet to have any issues. It works great and is way more economical, plus I get to smell it's great smell more often

That dilution ratio is also great for lightly soiled door jambs and engines, and obviously as a waterless wash.

I love D114. It's very economical. It's my go wash. I have been using also as a clay lube too. Just wasn't sure if there where any ill effects. And it's works great as a quick wipe down before the customer picks up their car.

                  Re: D114 clay lube

Why purchase a lubricant? I just use the soapy wash water as a lubricant. After I wash my car, I then clay the surface using soapy water as a lubricant. Then just rinse as normal.

Here is what I have done and worked ok on my car.
Soaked nanoskin autoscrub towel in D114 at 1oz to 2 gallon solution and clayed the car while it was still wet.
I saw no marring on my 2012 Acura black paint.

Do you use a grit guard with your wash & what soap do you use?

Does the D155 leave anything behind? Any wax or something you might not want while claying?
