    Back to back TNOGs!

Trying a bit of Black Wax on the bike.

This was the condition of the paint throughout - plenty of swirls detracting from the overall look.

Nothing but Black Wax on the right side, untouched on the left. The light SMAT abrasives, coupled with the polishing oils in Black Wax help to remove light swirls and increase gloss and depth to the paint. The flake and clarity on the waxed side is so much better than the untouched side.

A little experiment on the hood of the Lexus IS-F: it has fine swirls that can only be seen in direct sunlight, so the car owner wanted to treat one half the hood with the DAMF System and see how it compares to the untreated side over the course of the coming week.

Topping with his favorite wax - Ultimate Paste applied with a 4" pad via G110v2

A nice, thin, uniform coat of Ultimate Paste.

Light holograms persist on the side of the car, so the front door is being treated the same as noted above, the rear door is being left alone. The next week will give the owner an indication if this is the right process for him.

Looking more and more like an AMG, but it's not. A sheep in wolf's clothing perhaps?

Now this is not good. Severe swirls on super soft Prius paint.

In a crazy twist we're actually using White Wax on a black car, just to test the correction ability of the SMAT abrasives in White Wax.

Well, the swirls are certainly gone, but the White Wax was actually aggressive enough on this very delicate paint to leave a noticeable haze. Even though that's an easy clean up with a light polish, it doesn't really make sense to use a cleaner wax, finishing polish and then another wax. We opted instead for D151 Paint Reconditioning Creme followed by Ultimate Wax.

Another car loaded with swirls, this time a BMW Z3.

    DAMF System to the rescue!

Left side corrected, right side still full of swirls and scratches. There are still a couple of light RIDS after the first pass so we'll hit this a second time before using D301 to finish it off.

Putting the buffer in the owner's hands. A moment after this picture was snapped we pointed out the angle of the pad on the paint: as you can see it's not as flat against the paint as it should be. This is a common technique error made by new users.

We only have two more TNOG sessions left for the year - if you've never been to one, sign up now!

I had a lot of fun, next year I'll make sure not to have class on Thursday nights.
