  • Question about D180 Leather Cleaner & Conditioner

I was wondering if it is safe to apply D180 Leather Cleaner & Conditioner to new perforated leather?

    Thanks!

    Hi Bwiser,
As with any product and vehicle always test a small spot where you don't normally see to check for color fastness. In all my years Meguiars leather products have never had a problem, but just check for the first step. 2) Apply some the #180 to a clean microfiber rag and make sure the cleaner is just damp on the rag. Then you can wipe back and forth to clean and protect the leather depending on how dirty the leather is. 3) You can use a vacuum and carefully vacuum over the perforated spots to make sure that no cleaner goes down into the holes.
Usually luxury cars have cooled and heated seats through the holes, so you need to be carful that product does not work its way into the HVAC. Just curious, what type of car is this?

This is really the key as over applying is never a good thing. If you just squirt a blob of product onto any type of applicator and then put that full blob in contact with the leather, you increase the potential for something to go wrong. It's always best to dispense some product onto your applicator and then fold that applicator onto itself to distribute the product more fully before applying to the surface.
