  • NXT Insane Shine Tire Coating G-13115 ~ Review

Here is my review of NXT Insane Shine Tire Coating.

    First Impressions:
Its packaged in a aerosol can dressed up to match the NXT line... Directions are easy to follow. Says it will provide the ULTIMATE long lasting, mirror like coating.

I was not sure the product was for me, the Insane Shine sounded a little much for me.

    Application/Use:
After a good cleaning with NXT Tire Cleaner and the Versa-Angle Tire Brush, I sprayed the product directly on on the tire.

    End Results:
Did just as it said provides a mirror like coating!

As you can see I sprayed it on the concrete and it stained it as the can states. duh... on my part.

The tires still looked good after a wash in the automatic car wash. It toned the shine down but the tires still had some shine and a nice dark black look to them.

    Overall Impression:
After thinking this product might be a little much for me I was VERY surprised by the results. It looked great! Even after the car wash, a little rain, a couple hundred miles and a week the tires still looked like they were freshly dressed the shine has toned down but still looks great!

At $6.99 its not a bad price may be just a little more than similar products. As with all aerosol tire coatings/dressings you can empty a can fast. It did take a little more product that I thought it would. If you don't mind spending the extra on an aerosol tire dressing for the ease of use this is a good one to use, holds up very well and looks great. I prefer Endurance, a bottle will last me a couple years! But the Insane Shine is still a very nice product, there are times I will use an aerosol for a quick application and this will be the one.

    Great Product!

    gb,

    Good reveiw!

NOTE: Be very careful with both the NXT Insane Shine, and the Trim Detailer. They both contain Hexane... a very, very "nasty" chemical.

If you continure to use these products, follow the directions for safe usage... to the letter!

      Another good review!!!

While a great product, the look is not for me. I much prefer the look I get from using Meguiar's All Season Dressing on my tires. Just a personal preference.

One more thing I forgot... I did notice some sling from the product. Not sure if some of the excess can be wiped off, next time I use the tire coating I will give it a try.

That is if the rain ever quits! Seems the sun will shine long enought to wash your vehicle then the skys open up again!

Nice review, I might have to give it a try sometime. My tires are the usually only things I never end up taking care of, cleaning wise, when I wash the car.

            thanks.

Since it has Hexane in it (I have no idea what it is but that doesnt matter), will it ruin chrome wheels if it sits on there? I just bought a can today and used it on my truck. I'm sure that at some point when I was spraying it on it got on the chrome wheels.

              thanks

that's why i didn't care for it at first. i gave it another try and after i sprayed it on, i let it sit for about 10-15 minutes and use a tire swipe to spread it around evenly. since doing so, i haven't had any sling and this works out great for me!

A lot of people do prefer a more subdued shine. One thing about Insane Shine is after about a month or so, the shine does become more subdued, but it's still there. The durability is amazing!

Rcknit, did using a tire swipe to spread it around diminish the shine any? I tend to apply it very heavy and was wondering if I could spread it with a Tire Swipe.

Speaking of Tire Swipes, that is about the only accessory that Meguiar's does not offer (hint, hint).

                          hi ramairv1,
i found it gave it more a nice shiny sheen as opposed to a more wet look/shine as i applied it thin, to make it easier to spread with less chance for sling (i'm sure you can still use a tire swipe if applied thick). i'm not really a fan of too much shine....

I had the oppertunity to try this product out for the first time yesterday and thought it was worth while. The only thing I didn't like about it was the over spray that got on the car. It was kinda a pain to remove it from the paint. I loved the way it made my tires look, but they need to work on the over spray issue maybe come up with a nozzle that you can attach a small straw to like they have with WD40.

The Hexane will/should evaporate very quickly, what's left on your tires and in your case the chrome wheels is the dressing.
