Pinnacle Souveran Ques

Someone gave me a brand new never opened can of Pinnacle Paste wax. AG sells it for $95.00 a can. Ouch.. Anyoen ever use it? I am a huge Megs user but I'll give it a whirl is is good? How does it work with a black pad on my Megs buffer?

Apparently its very easy to use, supposed to be WOWO. I would probably just do it by hand if I was you. I have seen some pictures and it does look good, but no better than M26 and the durability is highly suspect.

I've tried a lot of different waxes and different price points, and while I have not specifically checked out the Pinnacle line (though I have recently tried their waterless wash) I keep coming back to Meguiars Ultimate paste and liquid wax. It protects as good or better than the others, and it is much easier to apply and remove. And it's not too shabby in the looks department either.

I wont be using any pinnacle products or PBMG products in the future, I tried their "Paintwork Cleansing Lotion" and it was hands down the worst detailing product I have ever used. OK if someone gave me souveran for free I would probably try it :p, but ill back #26 as being just as good if not better.

Number 26 is a great wax, no doubt about it. But, Pinnacle Souveran is in a different league for depth. It's just stunning on the right car. But.... I don't think it's worth the difference in price over 26.

I have a sample bottle of Souveran Liquid... but never got around to it.
I always reach for UW instead.

We would recommend applying this wax by hand as the instructions are to apply to a panel and wipe off before it dries. It's generally a very easy to use product as it goes on like warm butter and wipes off easily. Whether or not you find the results to be worth the cost of the product, or whether you prefer the look of another product (regardless who makes that other product) is going to be very subjective and something only you can decide for yourself.

It should be noted, however, that the vast majority of higher price point carnauba waxes are generally regarded as "beauty waxes". While they can impart subtle variations in depth, wetness or whatever other descriptor you choose to use, durability is almost never their strong suit. They tend to be more about that subtlety, that personal choice, that almost esoteric nature of the product. Same with any other "luxury" type product, really. And there's nothing wrong with that, as long as you understand that going in.

As such, as a group these products are best used on paint that has been corrected and polished to an extremely high level. These waxes won't actually fix anything (including the examples that cost literally thousands of dollars) so they are somewhat wasted on paint that is less than perfect. Of course, you were fortunate enough to receive this product as a gift so experimenting with it a bit isn't going to be as painful as if you'd spent your own hard earned money on it.

Michael, thank you for the thorough response. It certainly would not be my first choice but as you correctly noted, it was free so perhaps I'll try it but Megs UW will still be my go to product.

You could put the Souveran over top of the Ultimate Liquid to get the best of both worlds. I have never used the paste, but the liquid the was updated in 2012 is good stuff.

You're better off using PS on bare paint. It contains oils which wet the paint and give it excellent depth. Seems UW (an excellent product) will interfere with this process. PS looks amazing but not very durable. The closest Megs wax is Gold Class, which is rich in oils and looks great on dark colours.

Very old message but not sure why you called it the worst. I used it once on my black colored car and the results were amazing.
