  • Sanded my hood!

The front end of my car was repainted. The fenders and bumper look good minus the hood. So I sanded it down today. I just wanted to remove a bit of orange peel. Since I talked to my uncle yesterday about the paint job my car got.

The car is my daily driver so was not going for a show car finish. It looks good, especially when you turn off all the lights lol. So we'll see how it looks in the evil Meguiar's garage lights. haha

Sanded with my PC and interface pad with 3000 and 3" 3000 for tighter areas.

    Then used:
Menzerna FG400 with Lake Country Hybrid wool pad on my Rupes 21
Meguiar's M205 for polish with a polishing pad
Menzerna 4500 for a final polish
    IPA wipe down
    Finally Opti Coat

      Awesome job again Art!

We can go out for a drive without her makeup and she looks fine. If I want to take the black one out, it is three or four hours in the "bathroom" to get ready.

Are you coming to this week's TNOG, Art?

You know, given the discussions we had about the potential causes of the issue you faced here, I'm a bit surprised that you decided to OC the hood again right away. Nonetheless, I look forward to seeing it in person.

I think I OC the hood because I misunderstood the discussion we had.

The paint is going on 2 years now. Lol.

I actually have to do some small corrections to the hood. I might just polish the hood and use my brand new jar of Meguiars Ultimate Paste Wax.

And just signed up right now to this week's TNOG so yes I'll be there.

Hey Art - that looks good! Sure a lot different than it looked last Thursday night. I'm looking forward to seeing it in person this Thursday.

                ^ Thank You

I am still seeing some sanding marks, depending on the light, angle, time of day and where it is parked. It is hard to catch the sanding marks/swirls with the available lights I have. My paint has either some pearl or metallic. I think it is 2 1/2 stage almost 3 stage lol.

It needs some Meguiar's evil lighting lol. Hopefully there will be time to squeeze my car in the garage this Thursday. So see you guys there again.
