  • Is it OK to Compound and Polish this?

Hi guys, I was inspecting the fender flares on my 2005 Toyota 4Runner, stock. I'm assuming it is plastic underneath, hence the black spots. It's definitely a different material from the body. I first noticed a white haze over this area, and on closer inspection saw the black spots on the top rim of the flare. I was planning on going over the whole car with a DA polisher this weekend using Ultimate Compound and Ultimate Polish (with claying first). Can I do that safely, without taking off paint?
