Re: Deep Crystal Paint Cleaner
Ultimate polish would be a very good alternative.

Re: Deep Crystal Paint Cleaner
This is good to read. Ultimate polish falls right next to M205.

Colorx is a good cleaner wax that you can use as a paint cleaner by applying it and removing it prior to letting it haze. Your basically using it for it's paint cleaning properties.

Re: Deep Crystal Paint Cleaner
Deep Crystal Paint Cleaner was basically a chemical paint cleaner as opposed to an abrasive paint cleaner. That meant that, while great at removing light oxidation and embedded dirt that would dull down most colors, it really wasn't up to the task of removing even moderate swirls. In our Saturday Detailing 101 Classes we didn't even use it, opting instead for M80 from our Mirror Glaze Pro Line for defect removal with a DA buffer.
Once we introduced Ultimate Compound, which was right around the time we discontinued DC Paint Cleaner, we stopped using M80 in those classes and started using UC. Based on M105, UC is far more useful for removing moderate to even fairly heavy swirls, but when used by hand in a non aggressive fashion, it's still great for all the things DC Paint Cleaner used to be chosen for.
If your goal is just to keep the paint looking good rather than chasing a "show car shine", then you might even want to look into a nice cleaner wax that can remove light defects and add some solid carnauba protection in a single step. White Wax is pretty much the new king of the hill in that regard, no matter what color car you drive.Michael Stoops

Re: Deep Crystal Paint Cleaner
I found that using the old Heavy duty cleaner, would restore color, remove scratches and followed by polish, then wax, whether by hand or buffer over the entire finish would put down a "show car protective finish" for whatever quality of paintwork the car had. I found that Deep Crystal Paint Cleaner would do the same, just not quite as well with the scratches. Does Ultimate Compound do that????

Brings back memories of 2007. I remember pulling my pearl white Eldorado into the garage for 3 straight days of passionate hand polishing. That was the 1st time I tried the claybar. Then I did DC Paint Cleaner, DC Polish, and back then NXT was the craze.. I didn't know much about swirls back then, nor could they easily be seen on my white paint, but it sure looked good when I was done

Re: Deep Crystal Paint Cleaner
Does it ever bring back memories. I've spent many hours in the driveway using the '3 step' as we called it. I would love to buy the complete set just so I would have a set of full bottles. Mine are less than half full.Current Jeep: 2004 Jeep Liberty with stuff
