    Black Low Mileage Caddy

Been awhile and thought I would start posting up some of my work again. Have a great client that has several low mileage cars and have been doing some light to medium correction work on some of them. Got this one in about a month ago,

Looked great in clients garage until I went and picked up. Stopped to get me a bite to eat and thought I would check in the direct sunlight. My jaw dropped!!!!

This is on the drunk lid, and a repaint. And as you can see another Quality body shop buff! There was Holograms all over the car. And on the trunk at the very back and on the verticle panel on the trunk the paint was also very, very thin!! (I was worried about trying to at least remove some swirls)

After a rinseless wash, clayed, taped and rims & tires covered as well as the windshield, ready to start lightly polishing.

Condition of the sides of the vehicle. This is the driver side front door I'll be working on.

After careful polishing, cleared the finish up nicely!

Great reflection shot across the hood.

High powered LED's shining down on the hood after polishing.

5 High Powered LED's helping me get the paint as good as possible as well as removing most swirl and scratches

Lighten it up! Great Reflection shine!

    Before

    After a 2 step polishing

Before, working on the trunk lid using slow speed, light pressure and a mild cleaner polish with a finishing pad.

After, looks alot better but this paint was very soft and very scratch sensitive

Top edge around door with light swirls and scratches.

Cleaned up about 90% or so of light swirls & scratches.

All polished, IPA wipe down and GTechniq top coat applied. Great Reflections, A nice older low mileage Caddy!!!

    White walls and Caddy spokes!!

    Finished, Black and Slick!

Thanks for looking, this was one fun polishing job except the trunk lid. I believe the trunk lid was a rush do-over and wasn't mixed right because it was very! very scratch sensitive!!!! Used my 7424XP on speed 4 about 10 lbs. pressure a finishing pad with M205 and then even lightened up on that for the last pass with just the weight of the Porter Cable to keep any DA haze of surface.

We can go out for a drive without her makeup and she looks fine. If I want to take the black one out, it is three or four hours in the "bathroom" to get ready.

IMO this post gets a perfect 10 all across the board! Wow.
I've got a love for all Cadillacs, especially the older one's in part to their distinct, unique, and bold styling.. The styling on the 76-79 Seville is so unique, that it took a while to finally grow on me.. But as time goes on this perticular model has grown on me.. And the condition you left this black handsome ride is a perfect example of what this classic car should look like.
    Outstanding job!

Appreciate that Caddy Daddy!! The gentlemen that owns this 15,848 I believe? also has #90 of 200, 1976 white on white Bicentennial Caddy Convertible that I polished out a couple months ago and applied EXO too. May post up on here when I get a free minute if you would like to see it. It has 13,??? original miles, I got to drive it about 60+ ,miles to my garage and boy you talk about a smooth ride!!!

Thanks again guys for the kind words. Appreciate it!

Ok lots to say after reading your post^

1st of all, that Bicentennial Eldorado has lived a blessed life for it to not only have that few original miles on it, but to fall into the right hands when it was your duty to polish & wax it! That's awesome. I'd love to see some pix, my friend. BTW, was the paint on it clearcoat or single stage? 13,000 wow..

It's funny how special that 76' Eldorado was set to be.. So special that it was to be the last fleet of convertable Eldos ever... But then just 8yrs. later Cadillac just decides to release the 1984 Eldorado Biaritz Convertable expecting all the world to love it.. Well those owners who were promised they had purchased the last convertable Cadillacs ever were beyond furious! Lol. They even sued Cadillac and I don't blame them.

However, I have a special place in my heart for the early 80's Eldos. My 1st car was an 82' Eldorado Biaritz that I purchased for only $1,300. It looked just like this 1 in the picture.. Except mine had a stainless steel roof & white leather interior. Great looking cars when they're in good condition.

    This here's an 85'

Now as far as the Seville you polished, you mentioned 15,848.. Is that how many miles it currently has on it? Or what # it was?

Btw, from what I recall, those 1st edition Sevilles from 1976-1979 were the best selling Cadillacs of all time. And just think of how rare it is to see 1 looking like that today...
