  • Salt/natural oxidation removal

I'm concerned about ocean air/climate on vintage cars, and there doesn't seem to be a product that advertises to address this. Maybe regular soap removes everything, maybe it doesn't, maybe some waxes do a better job of forming a barrier to sale than others... lots of unanswered concerns about this, but something like a quick detailer I could spray on whatever I thinkmight oxidize would make me feel better. Ideally, it would be non permanent, and last several months on cars in storage.

Are you working on a show car or a "fair weather only" - garage queen type car? I ask because there are several ways (both permanent and non-permanent) that you can do to protect the vulnerable parts. Any uncoated metal is going to rust or oxidize. I'm guessing that you want a temporary coating so you can clean it off come driving/show weather. If you're working on a car that is just fair weather restricted, you may want to consider a permanent solution like POR-15, paint the parts and forget it forever. If you're worried about body panels, a routine of proper washing and sealing with a quality sealant or wax should prevent rust from forming.

I think I found something that fits what I want, sort of - its Sonax Fallout Cleaner. I want what it does, except ideally it could be applied as a coating on a clean surface, preventing salt and other contaminates from touching the paint... does wax do this??
