What is the BEST carpet cleaner available that does the best job cleaning carpets for the car?

In general? APC and then extract it with clean water.

This is a bit of a loaded question. What type of dirt are we talking? How soiled? ETC

Just general dirt...is buying an actual carpet cleaner like you do for your house not a good choice?

I just want to keep the carpets like new and get daily dirt and grime out.

Pick up a can of this. It's about $5 and works very well.

I tried several carpet cleaners with no luck. Someone suggested I try Folex that is available at Home Depot. I have had very good luck with Folex.

I would also suggest WeatherTech floor mats. They are worth every penny.

Getting a 'carpet cleaner' for the home then using it for the vehicles is the best of both worlds.

As to the daily collection of dirt, just keep it vac'd and save the shampooing for only a few time a year.

I usually clean all the carpets at home on my own.

I am using Meguiar's Carpet and Upholstery Cleaner. Keeping the carpet tidy is not that hard, I usually clean it every other week.
