  • Washing Microfiber Towels and Wash Mitts With Dawn Dish Soap?

Hi guys I am new to the forum but have been lurking around and using you guys to answer a lot of my detailing questions.

I was wondering if it was ok to pre-wash my wash mitt and my microfiber towels in Dawn Dish Soap?

I have heard that Dawn strips all wax and any other sealants on my car so I'm just trying to be CAUTIOUS after I just got it detailed at Executive Auto Detail and I DO NOT WANT TO REMOVE THE WAX AND SEALANT they applied.

    THANKS GUYS, Ben

You can do that if you like, but regular laundry detergent is fine too.

Some people even use a dedicated microfiber detergent.

We can go out for a drive without her makeup and she looks fine. If I want to take the black one out, it is three or four hours in the "bathroom" to get ready.

I have good results by doing a quik pre wash in a bucket of Gold Class. Only need about 1.5 gallons of water and the Grit Guard to agitate the heavy dirt off the towels prior to tossing them in the washer.

I've never tried Dawn. I have a feeling it might not rinse clean so easy. And I don't want to take a chance on my good towels having dishwashing detergent residue on them.
