Hello, I was wondering what do you recommend as far as cleaning, brake dust, dirt and grime off of red painted brake calipers? On my painted alloy wheels I like to use Meguirs ultimate detail spray or quick detailer, is that ok to use on the painted brake calipers as well? Or would I need something less abrasive like a waterless wash and wax? Thank you for your time.

Re: Cleaning dirt and brake dust off red painted brake calipers
The detail sprays you mentioed are not abrasive. They are fine to use on brake calipers, if they're not too dirty.
For heavy dirt, use an APC or wheel cleaner..Originally posted by BluelineI own a silver vehicle and a black vehicle owns me. The black one demands attention, washing, detailing, waxing and an occasional dinner out at a nice restaurant. The silver one demands nothing and it looks just fine. I think the black vehicle is taking advantage of me, and the silver car is more my style. We can go out for a drive without her makeup and she looks fine. If I want to take the black one out, it is three or four hours in the "bathroom" to get ready.
