First thing in the moring, Barry Meguiar and Car Crazy TV Productions arrived to capture some Car Crazy interviews.

With approximately 30 Vipers on hand, it was Wall-to-Wall Vipers!



Usually we start the classroom session at 9:00am sharp, but because of the Car Crazy interviews taking place, it seemed like the perfect time for a quick demonstration of the G-100 Dual Action polisher on this black Viper with silver stripes.



This ended up being a discussion on Paint Hardness, as this particular Viper had hundreds of scratches in the finish and the PC with #83 Dual Action Cleaner Polish on the 5.0 setting didn't even make a dent in these scratches. In order to remove these scratches, it was going to require the use of the rotary buffer.

Whoops! Now were ahead of ourselves because this is the type of thing we usually talk about in the classroom first, not the type of thing we start out teaching at 9:00 am in the morning!

The point of this demonstration ended up being a lesson on just how hard modern clear coat finishes are compared to traditional lacquers and enamels and thus the need to for specialized products, like Meguiar’s compounds, paint cleaners and cleaner/polishes, that will allow you to remove swirls and scratches from the surface without scarring and scouring the finish at the same time.

I thought I knew how to detail a car but boy was I humbled at the Viper event! Detailing used to be fun for me but now that I know it's a science I feel like I'm back in High School. The Viper definately looks better and now I know what to look for in car care products.
It was fun listening to Barry tell stories and what can you say about the Professor....Mike Phillips not only knows his stuff but teaches in a way that even I could understand and he didn't even make me feel dumb!

I have so many great pictures from that day to upload and each week it's the same thing, if I don't get to it right away, it becomes so very hard to get back to...

I will do my best to upload some this week. I don't know about the footage for Car Crazy, I'll ask though...
