    Review - Mirror Bright Shampoo

Picked up the newest shampoo from the Mirror Bright line locally. I typically don't use too many car shampoo's that leave some sort of wax behind even though it is short lived. But I just had to try this one

I purchased it at Autozone as they were offering a savings of $5 off when two Mirror Bright products I purchased.

    Product description:

Mirror Bright™ Automobile Shampoo is formulated for all automobile finishes, using chemistry that's been refined by over 110 years of experience and R&D. Our rich, carnauba milk formula allows one to not only clean, but also wax while washing. Recommended for regular washing and as the perfect accompaniment to fortify the finish of Mirror Bright Polishing Wax.

    Features:

    • A rich, high quality, wash & wax that sets the foundation for the line
    • Carnauba milk formula
    • Draws on proven ingredients with current chemistry & technology
    • Provides a slick, just waxed feel
    • Distinctive packaging sets it apart on shelf
    • In store AND at home in the garage

    Size: 48 fl oz liquid

    Details:

    Part #: MB0148
    MSRP $9.99

Directions on the rear of the bottle. Many will ask what kind of measurement is a "glug". I asked Nick the same thing and this was his response.

We wanted to bring back some of the old school style into the directions for the shampoo. : )

I filled up my bucket with 3 oz's of soap and 3 gallons of water. A jet of water created some very nice suds that lasted the entire wash.

Here is the condition of the paint. The car had not been washed in 2 weeks and some rain made a mess of the dirt and pollen on the car.

I proceeded to rinsing off the dirt from the paint. I also filled up my 32 oz foam gun with 2 oz's of Mirror Bright Shampoo to test the foaming capability. From using it I will have to use another ounce to get some better foam. It did ok but it wasn't the kind of foam that I am used to. When I use my foam gun, I am only using a 1 bucket wash with a grit guard and Meguiar's microfiber wash mitt. The foam from the gun produces some added lubricity and fun.

    All cleaned up

Here's a full shot of just after rinsing and drying the car. It is hard to say if anything wax was left behind on the surface considering M21 is holding up well and applied D156 a couple weeks ago. But the paint did look glossy.

I took it up a notch. I followed up with an application of Mirror Bright Detailing Spray. The detailing spray is one of my favorites. It left the surface slick.

Both products worked very well together. The shampoo cleaned well. I had no issues rinsing it off. Lubricity was good. The consistency is thinner than Gold Class. It has a nice cherry scent to it. Overall the shampoo is a really nice product. It's a good maintenance wash for those wanting a little extra gloss boost. Give it a try.

Consistency is similar to D110 Hyper Wash. Hyper Wash will have the most economical dilution ratio of the bunch. It also tends to foam better in a foam gun.

Interesting, I wonder how it will work on a Collinite sealed surface?

    Nice review.

The dilution ratio on the bottle's label may be slightly confusing but this article clears it all up.
Super Soap used to be my favorite shampoo for a foam gun. It still have some of it left before I'll switch to Hyper Wash.

It looks like Mirror Bright products deliver solid performance. I think I'll stop at AutoZone this week then.
