  • Pictures from May 21st, 2016 Saturday Detailing 101 Class

Great day in Irvine, CA for another one of our Saturday Detailing 101 classes! Today's project was a 2006 Ford F150 which hasn't received much paint care in a long time.

The truck was too dirty to use our Quik Detailer so we mixed up some D114 Rinse Free X-Press Wash to perform a rinseless wash on the hood.

Loose dirt & contaminants removed, ready to work.

We then evaluated for any bonded contaminants by feeling the paint when it is clean and dry. You could feel and hear the bonded above surface contaminants!

Time to clay! All hands on deck.

Now we pulled the truck out into the sun so we could really see what we were working with.

    These pictures speak for themselves!

We started with our Ultimate Compound applied with a DFC5 5 Inch Foam Cutting Disc, at 4800 OPM's, moderate arm speed, moderate to moderate heavy pressure, 4 section passes.

And this combination proved to be a winning one!

We then got everyone who wanted to comfortable with using a dual action polisher.

Results after a rinseless wash with our D114 Rinse Free X-Press Wash, claying with a combination of our Smooth Surface Clay Kit and Professional C2000 Mild Detailing Clay, Ultimate Compound with DFC5 5 Inch Foam Cutting Disc, Ultimate Polish with DFP5 5 Inch Foam Polishing Disc, Ultimate Liquid Wax with DFF5 5 Inch Foam Finshing Disc, applied with our MT300 Dual Action Polisher. Not bad for a 10 year old truck!

Thanks to everyone for coming and great job!

Looks like everyone got 'hands on' and learnt a whole lot about car care. Good job Nick!
