I am guessing this has a different chemistry than regular APC.

Yes sir. This M5826 Marine APC was tested & designed for various Marine applications where an APC is needed.

              Re: Meguiar's Marine APC

I am looking for a ready to use APC for car tires, wheel wells, light duty engine cleaning. Could this product be used for that purpose or would you suggest something else like #39?

              Thanks!

Sure, that would be a good option.

There used to be a car version, that didnt seem to sell well, so might want to pick up a few if you see them.

Most folks seem to go for the bigger jugs, and mix their own with water since you tend to use a lot of it.

Agree with Murr1525, sure, this would be an option. I would say, it is likely too aggressive for most any automotive interior use, unless you are dealing with heavy/severe grime staining. For applications like you mentioned, tires, plastic wheel wells, light duty engine cleaning, yes, would be an option.

Our #M39 Professional Mirror Glaze Heavy Duty Vinyl Cleaner is a "heavy duty" cleaner, but yet, is a bit more premium & in some ways safer, since it is designed specifically for vinyl, rubber, & colored plastics.

                    Re: Meguiar's Marine APC

Thanks for the info! I am having a set of machined aluminum wheels restored and they will be finished with clear powder coat. I will not be using any type of cleaners on these but want to ensure the product that I use to clean my tires won’t stain the wheels while scrubbing the tires. Any input on the Marine APC or M39 for this particular situation?

I would recommend #39 for your tires. Regarding our #39 staining the clear powder coat, it should not be an issue provided you clean wheels & tires when they are cool to the touch, do not let product dry on wheel surface, and you might also pre-rinse the wheel, so the product will be further diluted, but in general, should not be an issue.
