I would recommend at a minimum a polishing step before a coating. This way you remove any prior waxes or sealants but at the same time defects. You are essentially locking in the finish and if you are like me you want the paint to look to your satisfaction.

I know Megs suggests applying this over existing ULW but is this the best application for maximum shine and protection or applying after polishing and before ULW?

Reading about what you pay for Fast Finish in the USA makes me question Meguiar's motives for exorbitant prices in Australia.

Meguiar's rip us off here in Australia, Fast Finish is $49.99AU, most of the Meguiars product is 3 to 4 times more expensive in Oz.

Same for Sweden. Everyone uses Mothers products here since they are half the price what you pay for meguiars

It's not really Meguiars' fault. Prices over here are determined by our importer/reseller MotorActive.

We can go out for a drive without her makeup and she looks fine. If I want to take the black one out, it is three or four hours in the "bathroom" to get ready.

I would be very surprised if Meguiars USA didn't have any input on international prices. Motor Active is listed as a partner of Meguiars USA.

Regardless, we are being ripped off.

A couple decades back, I looked at importing into Australia.
The Aussie import tarrifs/duties were too high for me to continue looking at that path.

The one constant that I see every time I use UFF is that the slickness fades rather quickly, but the beading remains, so it would seem it is still present and working after multiple washes over a few months. A year..... ? maybe a garage queen under ideal conditions.

So, at which time I might want to remove the UFF for a coating, how easy/hard will it be to remove?

Clay, or any mild paint cleaner/polish like M205 Ultra Finishing Polish will remove Ultimate Fast Finish.

How about say Purple Power Vehicle and Boat wash? PH 10 at 2-3oz/20 oz water in foam cannon and dwell for 5 minutes?

We would not suggest removing it chemically, since you are essentially working the appearance of the paint finish backwards.

Just looking for the easiest way should I want to try a coating. I may end up liking this FF, we shall see. Thank you the input

I've used Ultimate wax for years and tried FF on a few cars since last year and the results seem about the same. Plenty of shine. About to run out of Ultimate and wondering if I should switch 100% to FF. Only thing stopping me is the thought that because there is more work in applying Ultimate, the better it is. I mean, why do they still make Ultimate if FF is quicker to use/apply and lasts longer?

As you say, UFF is easier to use and lasts longer - so it's a no-brainer for me.

UW gives a richer look IMO and some people prefer more traditional 'waxes' or just enjoy waxing more often - hence why Meguiars still keep making it. Different price point too.
