Re: Meguiar's Heavy Duty Headlight Restoration Kit

Is the easy buff wool pad sold seperately?

Is headlight coating same as headlight protectant?

Also need the 1000 and 3000 grit and sanding pad seperately?

    Thanks

      Hi Rhnos,

Easy buff Wool pad drill attachment included in this kit is not sold separately. Our S3F1000 & S3F3000 are no longer available for purchase separately.

The Headlight Coating included in this kit new for next year is not the same as the current headlight protectant. The headlight protectant currently in this kit is a synthetic protectant specifically for clear plastic which is recommended to be applied every 6 - 8 weeks. The new Headlight Coating which will be in this kit next year is a liquid version of the aerosol coating in our current G2000 Perfect Clarity Headlight Restoration Kit which lasts a year. Again, this is a wipe on, liquid version of that coating, which is ASTM certified for a year's worth of protection so the lights will not re-oxidize.

Here is a picture of the new liquid wipe on coating & included applicator sponge, i'm not positive if this is final packaging, but it is the final wipe on sponge, I am actually demonstrating this here at SEMA:

Re: Meguiar's Heavy Duty Headlight Restoration Kit

many thanks for your reply and kind explanation.

as far as i understand, the new headlight coating is replacing the headlight protectant contained in the previous restoration kit.

as it is the same like the aerosol found in the g2000 perfect clarity, can i use the plastx to clean the headlight and then i used the aerosol version which i heard will be on sale seperately.

i have like 2 bottles of full plastx and headlight protectant left, that is why i am reluctant to buy another kit and i was looking for the wool pad and the sanding grit seperately.

but i will keep on looking at your videos and if need be i will either buy another kit or only the aerosol.

i'll have to compare which is better between the liquid and the aerosol version.

awaiting for detailed pictures and videos on that.

        many thanks

Yes, however you would like to restore the headlights, you can use our aerosol headlight coating to protect them.

Re: Meguiar's Heavy Duty Headlight Restoration Kit

Bought this kit and it worked great. My only complaint was the included wool buff pad shed like crazy! Couple questions, I rinsed the wool pad after use, will be able to use this again? Is there an alternative pad I can use with my 3" DA Polisher? Where can I get more of the sanding discs?

Happy to hear the kit worked out great for you!

I will document your feedback internally to get your voice heard regarding our wool pad drill attachment. As far as cleaning, we typically waiting until the product is dried, and then brushing out the residue. A little water typically is OK, but we do not recommend submerging the attachment.

We have found that it typically takes the strength of rotary machine & an aggressive foam or wool cutting pad, but you could potentially dry a foam or microfiber cutting pad along with a compound on your 3 inch DA.

Unfortunately the included S3F1000 & S3F3000 Meguiar's 3inch Unigrit Foam Finishing Discs are no longer sold separately. You may be able to still find some for sale on-line or in Professional Distribution, but again they are no longer produced for separate sale.
