  • Mirror Bight Polishing Wax Bottle Cap (a lousy cap and a simple solution)

I've been using Meguiar's products almost exclusively since the early 1970's and have been a member of this forum since 2004. No complaints about Meguiar's products until now.

What is with the small metal cap on Mirror Bright Polishing Wax? it is not at all "user friendly". It is difficult to apply the product to a pc pad or even a hand held pad. If you leave the cap off the bottle and set it down, you are very likely to dump it over and lose quite a bit of the product. (Which I did.) So much for "reto" containers. Come on Meguiar's...How about a dispenser cap for one of your premier products?

Out of frustration I tried using a dispenser cap from a bottle of Ultimate Wax. It works great. Same should be true of the caps from the rest of Meguiar's liquid waxes and sealants.

Seems like you found a solution to the issue. Nicely done.

The Meguiar's bottles with the self cleaning tips would be another alternative.

We are sorry to hear about your trouble and appreciate your feedback. This was actually thought through as part of the retro design, from what I understand, our marketing team did not want to use a modern dispenser cap on the Mirror Bright bottles, and chose to have the cap style, similar to those which came on our older glass bottles.

Not to be a smart ---, ...but your marketing team should try using the product. Seriously the retro cap is a detriment to the product. A non-Meg's person might find it a big turn-off and not buy the product again.

I do hope that the product lives up to its claims. So far I am pleased with the results of my application. Carnuba seems to add something special even on a white truck.
