  • What's the Detailer equivalent of Ultimate Liquid Wax

Detailer or Professional or Mirror Glaze equivalent version of Ultimate Liquid Wax?

For the veterans on this forum, sorry I tried searching and didn't find it

Thank you for your time and assistance!

Re: What's the Detailer equivalent of Ultimate Liquid Wax

    Hi Steen27,

There is actually no Pro equivalent to the polymer technology Ultimate Liquid Wax uses. Our top tier full synthetic in our Pro Lines is #21 Synthetic Sealant 2.0, which is similar technology to our NXT Tech Wax 2.0.

Feel free to comment further questions.

Re: What's the Detailer equivalent of Ultimate Liquid Wax

I'm sorry to dig upan old thread, but out of curiosity. Why is there not a pro version of UW? If UW is the longest lasting protection, wouldn't a pro be able to use that to their advantage as well? Or is #21 still superior? I know there are consumer products that a pro wouldn't touch. Though if UW is supposed to be superior to NXT 2.0, why wouldn't there be a pro version to be superior to #21? Is this a too simplified way of looking at this

I could be wrong.. I dont think a lot of detailers offer that kind of package... but it is a great product, they probably could if the customers knew about it.

I guess I'm missing something here then. What would be the downside to using ULW compared to #21 if there was a direct/semi-direct equivalent?

Re: What's the Detailer equivalent of Ultimate Liquid Wax

If you were to do a good detail with a base wax, and then wash every week or two, and use UQW after the wash, you would not need much else.

Probably a deeper cleaning after winter.... but thats about it...

Probably because the M21 2.0 works for it's intended function to a very high degree. To introduce another "Synthetic Sealant" to either pro line is redundant, probably because they're kind of similar.

I actually use both, but because of volume, I mostly use the M21. Simply because it is available in the 64oz container, and generally easier to use with more predictable results.

Also, not that it matters, M21 smells way better than Ultimate Liquid Wax.

Then what 1 is better, #21 Synthetic Sealant, M20 Polymer Sealant or Ultimate Liquid Wax?

It's not about which is better. They all do the same thing in protecting the paint.

M20 has a light cleaner in it so think of it as a cleaner sealant.

M21 is a finishing sealant with no cleaners. It may not last as long as UW but it works pretty well. This tends to give a candy type look.

UW is also a finishing sealant. It will last longer and be more durable than M21 as UW has newer polymers. This tends to give a more carnauba type look.

This is a great question, and maybe it needs revisiting (it's been two years!). In the form of a question, Has there been a recent addition that improves the "pro line"? M21 is how old?

M21 Synthetic Sealant 2.0 is still our most premium protectant in our Pro Mirror Glaze / Pro Detailer Line. Most recent addition in wax category is D166 Ultra Polishing Wax.

Whatever happened to D157? Wasn't this kind of equivalent or no?

D157 Synthetic X-Press Liquid Wax was not equivalent to M21 Synthetic Sealant 2.0. D157 was more of an economical protectant designed to apply & remove very fast.
