    Wrightwood Mountain Classic Car Show
23rd Annual Mountain Classic Car Show
    August 19th, 2017

It was set up to be a beautiful 77 degree day for a car show, in this small mountain resort town on the Los Angeles and San Bernardino County lines. Wrightwood is 6,000 feet above sea level in the pines, oaks and sycamores while surrounded by the San Bernardino National Forest.

There were more than 250 vehicles entered. The number of out of town visitors and local folks that came to look at the cars was well likely more than 2,000. I saw more than 50 folks wearing their bright orange volunteer shirts.

I took the El Camino up the morning before and detailed it for the show.
While there I came across these two vehicles of other Meguiar's enthusiasts.

Images below include Pete and Sandy's Tru-Blu 56 Chevrolet Nomad.

I also got to take a good look at Joe's 55 Ford Pick Up LILT55.
It has shaved doors and a 351 Ford engine.

I hope these images shine as much as the cars did.

This is the '59 from their 2017 flyer and TShirt.
I believe it was best of show the prior year.
I am not sure which products Edward uses, yet these images are from the early morning. Even in the shadows, you can see people reflected. You can see the 1959 348 ci engine reflect from the underside of the hood.

Edward explained that this is not a shop built car. It was built primarily by him in his backyard. He has a tool box full of great skills.
I have had the privilege of seeing several good 1959 El Caminos. This one is up there with the best of them.

You can get a feel for the mountains and small village of Wrightwood.

      Rare 1959 348 engine.

        Old Bear,

Very very cool looking show. I am a fan of the area. When I first started with Meguiar's, I had a friend that lived in Crestline, CA and often would jam up Waterman highway in my lifted 1/2 ton Chevy for the weekend.

Thank you for sharing. Fun that you ran into fellow Meguiar's Enthusiasts.
