Does surface dust affect aftermarket paint outgassing?

I just had my car repainted. I've not washed it yet, it's actually quite clean, aside from some surface dust (from the shop and just general atmosphere). Being a black car, I'm quite leary of touching it at all right now.

Can dust alone affect the paint outgassing process? I'm inclined to avoid touching it at all, even with gentle soaps (non-wax) and microfibers, unless it's going to be better to keep as dust-free as possible.

I'm not a painter, but my opinion would be no, the dust won't hurt it. I've always gotten advice from the painters I know though, and it's okay to wash it, so long as you're washing it with the correct non-swirl inducing methods of course.

My two-bucket wash is usually:

Hose down
Suds up and wipe with Gold Class Soap and X3002
Rinse off soap
Pass over panels with ONR (sheets and lubricates)
Dry with X2000 towels (one for "mop" one for spots)
Spot touch up compressed air, ONR spray and a dozen or so Supreme Shine towels

It's black paint, though, so it's gonna get clearcoat streaks no matter what

Dust will not affect the paint from outgassing. You can stick with your normal washing routine.

Most paints are usually baked to accelerate the curing time.

I had my car repainted and washed it like normal. I did use M305 to protect the paint as it was designed for repaints as it is breathable.

Dust would not affect the curing of a freshly painted panel. I would mention that regardless of being freshly painted or not, frequent removal or fresh contaminants like dust or dirt is beneficially for paint, but like you said, provided it is performed properly with a quality detail spray, microfiber towel, and technique. The more time contaminants have sitting on the paint, the more likely they are going to cause an issue like bond or etch.
