Re: Meg's Last Touch Out Of Date?

I'd like to add another piece to the puzzle. After finishing the first "off color" batch of Last Touch, and receiving another 5 gal tub, I'm sorry to say that I am indeed now noticing a major difference in the performance. There is a film left behind after using the product that seems oily or greasy. It's especially noticeable on darker paints and windows. I changed the ratio from 1:1 all the way back to 4:1 and it is better, but definitely still leaving behind a oily film. At this point we are forced to quickly rewash the vehicle after claying. Soapy wash water removes the film easily.

I tried several different clays to eliminate a bad batch of clay. I've done a dozen or so cars since receiving this latest batch. All have shown the film after claying with Last Touch. My Mequiar's rep brought me a new gallon Friday to try. Although it too appears to be the "new" color and consistency, I'm hopeful it won't be oily. We'll try it Monday.

Is there no information about a product change that would explain the new color and consistency?

Update: the replacement gallon provided by my supplier is good. No oily residue left on the car. Now to exchange my bad 5 gal batch for a new one, hoping it's not a problem with a large quantity of the 5 gal tubs.
