  • Compatibility of #67 and Paint Guard Plus

Hi there, call me lazy, but the idea of wipe on walk away protection for my gelcoat is pretty compelling. However, I am wondering whether or not Meguiars #67 is compatible with Paint Guard Plus which needs to bond directly to the gelcoat. Specifically, does the #67 contain any ingredients, such as oils or minerals for example, that would cause a disruption to the bonding process?

    Any help is much appreciated!

    Thanks,
    Mike

Re: Compatibility of #67 and Paint Guard Plus

    Hi Mike,

Welcome to Meguiar's Online. This is going to be tough to answer unless someone in the community is familiar with the protection product you are considering using. This question would honestly be better suited for the manufacturer of the protection product. Yes, #67 does contain many oils for gloss & moisture enhancement for the gel coat. Whether or not these would affect the bonding of the protection product you are considering again would be a question for the manufacturer of that product, essentially asking them what is required to prepare the surface prior to application.

    Hope this helps.
