Pictures from Meguiar's September 9th, 2017 Detailing 101 Class
After a fun morning in Meguiar's Training Room focusing mainly on the finer details of on our 5 Step Paint Care Cycle, we headed out into the garage to demonstrate some of the methods learned on this black Transit.
We started by performing a waterless wash with our Ultimate Waterless Wash & Wax. (formerly named Ultimate Wash & Wax Anywhere). The vehicle was quite dirty, so we sprayed liberally, and used a nice gentle touch for each pass, rolling up the edge of the towel as we overlapped.
Completely clean and ready to work on.
After feeling the clean paint with our hand, we inspected that it felt rough, so we proceeded to use our Smooth Surface Clay Kit to remove the above surface contaminants.
Next we evaluated for below surface defects using proper lighting. There were plenty of swirls, scratches, & water spots stains present to remove.
We explained for this level of defects, we were comfortable going straight to our Ultimate Compound on our 5" Soft Buff DA Foam Cutting Disc.
Below is our 50/50 picture just after using Ultimate Compound via MT300 on a 5" Soft Buff DA Foam Cutting Disc.
When using a DA Polisher, it's important to keep the pad flat against the paint for best performance.
Getting down low to ensure pad is kept flat.
Any attendants who wish to try our MT300 Dual Action Polisher have a chance to do so at our Detailing 101 Class.
There were some deep water stain etchings in certain areas so we used our M100 Pro Speed Compound via DMC3 DA Microfiber Cutting Disc to increase our cutting ability.
Ultimate Polish Pre-Waxing Glaze was next, to further refine the paint & bring up an even more high gloss.
Followed by Ultimate Liquid Wax.
And then finally locked in with Ultimate Fast Finish
We hope everyone agreed this really can be an easy to learn process! Thanks for coming out! Check out the before and afters below!
