It would be perfectly OK to use for tires Bill. If you prefer the type of satin/non-greasy finish this product leaves behind, you may like it as a tire product.

          Thanx Nick!

Yes, really partial to a 'natural' lookin' tire.

How does this compare to #57 from the Marine Line? Does this have any mildew resistant properties?

After a friend recommended it I've been using Marine 57 on my cars' exterior and interior trim for several years. Secret weapon. Doing a test shootout with both Paint Protect™ and Chemical Guys' VRP™ to see how they compare to 57. But how does 57 compare to this newfangled Marine Extreme Vinyl and Rubber Protectant™? Same stuff, just hipped up for the kids with the added "Pina Colada" scent?

                Hi Guys,

Extreme Marine Vinyl & Rubber Protectant is very similar to our #57 Marine/RV Vinyl & Rubber Cleaner/Conditioner BUT, Extreme Marine Vinyl & Rubber Protectant has a little less cleaning ability & a little more protecting ability. In addition Extreme Marine Vinyl & Rubber Protection is packaged is a large 32 oz size, where #57 Marine/RV Vinyl & Rubber Cleaner/Conditioner is only available in a 16oz spray size.

If more than mild cleaning is needed, the new Extreme Marine Multi Purpose Cleaner is a awesome choice. I got the chance to do some more testing of it a couple weekends ago on an older boat and it easily powered through years of grime. Check it out below:

Hope this helps & feel free to post further questions.

Also just got off the phone with our Marine/RV Product Manager and R&D - the formula properties which make up the protective qualities in Extreme Marine Vinyl & Rubber Protectant have the ability to shield the surface & protect it from mold or other bacteria from growing & attaching. The product also has anti-bacterial inhibitors which will work to inhibit the forming of mold & other bacteria.

So does Extreme Marine Vinyl & Rubber Protectant have mildew resistant properties, the answer is yes, absolutely.

Extreme Marine Vinyl & Rubber Protectant™ sounds like a "Winn"er (sorry). Thanks Nick for researching all of that. Automotive shootout with Marine #57 vs. EM-VRP? Oh yeah....tomorrow. And it better not smell too pina colada-y!

Leatherette is vinyl, and this is a mild product as far as cleaning ability, so we would OK the use of this on leatherette or other automotive applications.
