Pre wax cleaner won't fully come off

Hey guys, it's been a long time since I've posted. I just applied a pre wax cleaner (wolfgang paintwork polish enhancer), and now it won't fully come off. It was about 50 degrees outside and I covered the whole car before removing any using a da polisher. The only thing that is different this time around is that it is a little colder out than usual when I do this job. The cleaner mostly buffs out but leaves a haze behind. If I rub a section vigorously with my fingers after several seconds then it fully comes off, but not with the microfiber towel..... Any suggestions? Why did this happen since I've done this at least 5 times in the past to this car using the same materials? Suggestions are much appreciated

I have never used the product you are referring to but my guess is this product is designed to be wiped off wet, and not allowed to be left to dry. You may have just been able to get away with applying to the whole car in the past since it wasn't as cold out.

Typically when we apply our compounds, cleaner/polishes, pure polishes, or paint cleaners, by hand or machine, they are applied in small 1 square foot (by hand) or 2 square foot (by machine), worked into the paint finish, and then wiped off while "wet." They are most easily able to wipe off when they are worked into a light wet translucent film.

Typically if one of the above products ever does dry and becomes difficult to remove, the user can re-apply more product in a small area, work in, then wipe off. Many will also use a spray detailer like our A3316 Quik Detailer Mist & Wipe to assist in removal.

Does the above thoughts sound possible?

Thanks Nick. I have some Meguiars quik detailer so I will try that first. If not I'll try using the product again. The label says let it dry to a haze before removed but maybe a 45 minute haze is too long.

Interesting, my only other thoughts would be maybe you are leaving behind too thick of coat, or maybe it is just too cold out. For example, with our waxes, which most of we do recommend to allow to dry on the paint, we recommend applying a very thin & event coat.

I usually squirt an "x" across the whole 6 inch pad. It does seem to be a bit much. I don't want there to be too much pad and not enough cleaner to be to abrasive on the paint. Am I worried about nothing? Maybe it would be better to just use a really thin "x" instead? Thanks again for the help

I am assuming you are using a dual action polisher with a foam pad correct?

A "x" of product is fine with a fresh pad, but after all the pores of the pad are saturated with product, which is typically after the first or second pass, you should only need 2 - 4 pea size drops each time you go to add product. Again, i'm not familiar with product being used, but generally all that is needed when using a da polisher is a light wet residue of product. So correct, you do not need to be overly concerned with not having enough liquid when buffing. In other words, as long as there is a light wet residue, you are good. If the light wet residue starts to become thin or approach none at all, it's time to add more liquid.

Thanks that helps. Yes I use the porter cable da. Speed of 5 when applying the pre wax cleaner. That makes sense to do an X at the beginning only. I've been doing an X thru out so definitely too much product. Thanks for your replies.
