  • Meguiars wash plus question

So I have all these water spots all over one side of my car from a sprinkler at work. They've been there for a while, baking in the hot Texas sun. Some are etched in, but a lot of them just seem like stains. They seem to remove about 90% with d151 by hand.

My question is, will the "cleaners" in Wash Plus be enough to remove the water spot stains that aren't yet etched in? I figure if it's strong enough to strip wax, it should be strong enough to get these out. Anyone with experience with this?

    Re: Meguiars wash plus question

For any surface deposits left on the vehicle from the dried water, yes, Wash Plus's extra cleaning ability compared to a normal car wash soap will likely help to remove these. For any deposits from the water which have stained/etched the paint surface, no, Wash Plus will not likely remove these. You will likely need a mild abrasive like you have used, D151 Paint Reconditioning Cream, or stronger, either by hand or machine.
