So, I just picked up a 2018 Mazda CX-5. I love it, but I keep getting swirl marks on the shinny I think painted B-Pillars). What can I use on these to remove them? Would megs x 2.0 hurt them if they

Congrats on the new car! These shiny painted B Pillars are THE most delicate & softest paint surface we might be able to imagine! You are OK to use our cleaners & compounds for automotive paint on them, but we would recommend using the least aggressive process needed. For example,

Wipe off dust gently with our Quik Detailer Mist & Wipe Spray and a quality microfiber towel like our Supreme Shine Microfiber Towel/

Start with Ultimate Polish Pre-Waxing Glaze, applied with a soft foam applicator pad (if working by hand). Keep your hand flat, applying in circular motions with light to moderate pressure. The product should break down to a light wet film which you will want to wipe off immediately while it is still wet. Check your results with good lighting.

If the above combination does not work to remove the defects to your satisfaction, you could move up to Scratch X 2.0 or Ultimate Compound, both are more aggressive. Apply in same manner than above, and check your results. Don't be surprised if this combination hazes the paint, or in other words makes the paint look gray. The paint is typically so soft that cleaners can not leave the best finish behind. This is where Ultimate Polish comes into play again, you may have to do 2 - 3 applications of Ultimate Polish to bring back the clarity of the painted B Pillar.

Apply your favorite coat of wax/sealant afterwards for protection.

We have heard of many users "correcting" these b pillars as perfect as they can get, and then having clear paint protective film installed.

How many passes do you need to make usuallly?

do they come back after you wash the car?

Usually two or three light passes at speed 4.

No the scratches Don't come back for me.

Do you think Ultimate Polish on a yellow foam pad by hand would remove them, or just make it worse

Depends on how deep they are. The limitation is the hand. A foam pad with ultimate polish is a good starting point to make them look better.
