Pictures from March 29th, 2018 Thursday Night Open Garage

Our first Thursday Night Open Garage was a fun one with a few different projects going on. Many people stopped by who had never been before to check it out and plan on bringing their cars back to have us & our regulars help them with their paint.

Recently one of our regular attendants at our TNOG's unfortunately passed away, MOL Member Bob Bartel (IMZ4N). His wife and son came down & brought Bob's car, so we helped them detail it. Mike Stoops started with our new Ultimate All Wheel Cleaner on the wheels.

The paint was rough so we proceed to clay the vehicle with our C2000 Professional Mild Detailing Clay

After claying it was time to come up with a plan for the paint.

D166 Ultra Polishing Wax applied via MT300 Dual Action Polisher on DMF5 DA Microfiber Finishing Disc did just the trick. Removed light swirls, increased gloss & clarity, provided protection.

We also worked on this 2016 Honda Accord.

We started with wiping off the light dust with our Quik Detailer Mist & Wipe.

The paint finish was also a bit rough, so we used our Smooth Surface Clay Kit to remove the above surface contaminants.

The owner of the vehicle, MOL Member NarekBazikyan, is just getting into D/A Polishing and purchased a Rupes Bigfoot 21 polisher, which he brought with him to TNOG. He wanted to use our compounds & polishes, so we helped him come up with a process of pads & products to use for his car. We ended up using Meguiar's Ultimate Compound applied via DFP6 Soft Buff DA Foam Polishing Disc, followed by M205 Ultra Finishing Polish, applied with DFF6 Soft Buff DA Foam Finishing Disc via his Rupes Bigfoot 21, then Ultimate Liquid wax applied with a separate DFF5 Soft Buff Foam Finishing Disc on our MT300 Dual Action Polisher.

Final wipe off & the car was looking much better, and super smooth!

Some outside headlight restoration going on with PlastX & our G3507 4" DA Power Compounding Pads.

And the last project of the night, a little headlight restoration for this poor old minivan.

We used 1000 grit foam finishing disc, followed by 3000 foam finishing disc, then buffed out with M205 Ultra Finishing Polish on our MT300 Dual Action Polisher via a DMC3 DA Microfiber Cutting Disc.

Much better! Thanks to everyone for coming out! See ya next time!
