Pictures from Meguiar's April 14th, 2018 Intro to Paint Care & D/A Polishing Class
Our last Saturday Class about wore me out with questions! I think we talked about washing for One and a Half hours! We love that though because an engaging class makes for great discussion! Our demonstration in the afternoon on the other hand, was a pretty straight forward one! Typical cobweb/spider web swirl marks from improper washing, on this Toyota Prius.
And here they are!
After letting the paint cool down for a while, we wiped off the dust with our Quik Detailer Mist & Wipe along with a Supreme Shine Microfiber Towel.
We would consider this "light oxidation" and overall "lack of clarity." There was also what appeared to be some sort of small stains in the paint, likely from some sort of environmental fallout.
Next we used our Smooth Surface Clay Kit to remove the rough feeling above surface contaminants.
Clarity already improving just after a quick clay.
We tested Ultimate Comound, around 5000 OPMs, on our MT300 Dual Action Polisher with DFC5 5 Inch Soft Buff DA Foam Cutting Disc.
And there you have it! 4 section passes, moderate pressure, moderate arm speed. Test spot complete! We will finish the hood for the owner, but now he can repeat this set up for the rest of the car.
Speaking of the owner, he give the MT300 Dual Action Polisher a run.
Looking good. We did not even have to use a polish on this paint, Ultimate Compound followed by Ultimate Wax.
Thanks to everyone for coming out!
