Difference between Meg Aggressive and Mild clays?

I usually get the consumer clay kit but see there is a professional version in aggressive and mild varieties. What the difference? Why wouldn't you use aggressive all the time to make removing contaminants quicker? I assume it's not like sandpaper so it won't scratch the paint any more than the mild. And why is one can of just clay more expensive than the whole kit?

I noticed you used the terminology "professional version." I just wanted to clarify in case you were under the impression. Our Professional Line (Mirror Glaze & Detailer) Products, do not necessarily mean that the products are superior to our "consumer" line. Our Professional Line products are just designed & tested to the professional market. Different paints, machines, needs, ingredients, sizes, etc. Actually in many cases, our "consumer" line of products, are superior in performance to our "professional" lines.

Meguiar's G1016 Smooth Surface Clay Kit is considered mild clay. It is our least aggressive mild clay we offer.

Meguiar's C2000 Professional Mild Detailing Clay is considered mild. It is slightly more aggressive than our Smooth Surface Clay Kit clay.

Meguiar's C2100 Professional Aggressive Detailing Clay is just that aggressive. It is used on an as needed basis for heavy contaminant removal or for situations like a severe case of paint overspray. Our C2100 Professional Aggressive Clay will commonly haze paint, especially dark paints, where they need to be machine polished afterwards to remove the haze.

Both our Professional Detailing Clays are over 220grams of clay per container.

Thanks. Ordered the clay kit for the mild variety and a tub of the aggressive style. Will M105 with a DA take care of possible haze with the aggressive clay?

M105 with the right tool, pad and technique will frequently remove the haze.
However, M105 is a very capable compound and may leave a haze on some paints.
You can follow up the M105 with M205 Polish to get a more reflective paint surface,

Using the concept of "Least Aggressive" product and technique mix, it might be best to see if M205 Polish removes the defects and any clay induced haze before trying the M105 Compound.

Are you working by hand or machine? If machine, what type?

I would agree with Old Bear. M205 Ultra Finishing Polish by machine will more than likely remove any haze from the aggressive clay, if that is you are using M205 Ultra Finishing Polish by machine. Just do a test spot before claying entire car.
