    Pictures from Meguiar's May 12th, 2018 Marine/RV Care 101 Class

Meguiar's 2018 Marine/RV Care 101 Class was this past Saturday. We first started in the classroom, talking over some Fiberglass/Gel Coat Marine/Differences. Tom MacDonald, Meguiar's Marine/RV Sales & Training Manager, and Markus Kleis, Meguiar's Product Manager, Professional, Marine/RV were both in attendance throughout the day to help with the class.

After the classroom session, it was time to get some hands on! I think this is going to be an "Extreme Makeover."

We started by first using Meguiar's M771 Marine/RV Heavy Duty Oxidation Scrub. This is essentially an abrasive soap which cleans off the chalky oxidation residue. This residue can slow the compound process down significantly. By using the Heavy Duty Oxidation scrub it saves a lot of time. It also makes for a great non skid cleaner.

    Starting to look better already!

    Ummmm. No caption needed...

After moving the boat in the garage, we started with a test spot, which was M67 Marine/RV One Step Compound, via rotary & our WRWC8 Soft Buff Rotary Wool Cutting Pad, and WRSBP Rotary Soft Buff Backing Plate.

    The results were great!

We then let the class attendants have a run with the rotary set up. Juan, pictured below, clearly has some time behind a rotary, with these awesome ergonomics on the side of the boat.

Everyone who wanted to got some hands on time using the compound set up with various rotary machines.

We also tested using our MT300 Dual Action Polisher Machine with a DFC5 Soft Buff Foam Cutting Disc, also with M67 Marine/RV One Step Compound, and the results were also great. It did not cut as much as the rotary, so we mainly used this combinatio on the left side of the boat, which had not been sitting in the sun, and wasn't as oxidized.

Some Extreme Marine Multi Surface Cleaner in action on these Vinyl Seats. Look closely and you can see the before & after tape line.

Extreme Marine Water Spot Detailer to help clear up some water spots on the boat glass.

After the M67 One Step Compound with Rotary/MT300 Dual Action Polisher, WRWC8 Soft Buff Rotary Wool Cutting Pad, WRSBP Rotary Soft Buff Backing Plate, DFC5 Soft Buff DA Foam Cutting Disc, DBP5 Soft Buff DA Backing Plate we applied:

M63 Flagship Premium Marine Wax via MT300 Dual Action Polisher on a DFP5 Soft Buff DA Foam Polishing Disc. This added even more gloss, gave us a super slick feel, and of course full synthetic protection.

Before we knew it, it was time to roll it out into the little sun we had for some after shots.

    BEFORE

    AFTER!

Thanks to everyone for coming out! Such a fun project! We will definitely being doing another Marine/RV Care Class in the future! Feel free to post any questions.
