    Am I doing this right?

Hi, first post here and I just had a few questions about whether what I'm doing to my car is correct. So I have a 2013 Honda Accord EX-L V6 in Champagne Frost Pearl. I got this car as a graduation present a year ago so it's fairly new to me, and the car itself is in very good condition. I know it has never been clay barred just cause I can tell, so l was wondering if I should compound it also? I was planning on washing it, claying, compounding (with UC by hand), and waxing (NXT 2.0). I just want to make sure what I'm doing won't mess up the paint, and/or make sure I'm not missing any important steps. Thanks!

Welcome to the online world of obsessed detailers!

Wash ... Clay ... definitely! Depending on the paint condition, you can decide what you may need next. Ultimate Compound is jumping in a little deep for your first trial. Although if working by hand it's not likely to get you into any trouble, it just may be overkill. Honda's typically have a softer clear coat of paint so you may only need a polish or cleaner wax. What is your ultimate goal, perfection (no swirls, spots or scratches)? Or just a revitalized shine and protection?

Welcome to Meguiar's Online! I agree with HCAD, Wash & Clay, but from there, what is your goal for the vehicle's paint? There are a couple options:

One Step Cleaner Wax = Saves time, great results.

Multi Step Process with Dedicated Products = More Time, Can deliver best results

Ultimate Compound is used on an as needed basis to address defects like swirls, scratches, stains, and oxidation.
