I just bought the DA system. So far I really like it. I just bought it to pick up a new hobby and work on my car and families car. I bought all three pads and wanted to add some extra pads to the kit. Was wondering is there a microfiber pad I can buy that will cut even better than the Red compound pad, that will fit the DA system.

We do have a DMC3 DA Microfiber Cutting Disc, but it was not tested on and it not technically approved for our DA Power System. With that said, I have seen users attempt to use it with success in achieving more cut. Our DA Power System Drill Attachment is a little workhorse and a great tool for the money, but if you are looking for more cut we would suggest moving up to a Dual Action Polisher like our MT300.

I know this may be a noob question, but physically, what is the difference between the DA system, and an actual DA polisher? The movements are the same correct?

The simple answer is that the MT300 is just much more powerful.

The long answer is:

DA Power System is a small stroke orbit, forced rotation dual action random orbital
DA Power System is limited in power due to the drill powering the attachment
There is a reduction in the DA Attachment which slows down the operation of the tool, this is needed for ease of operation due to the small size of the unit & safety for entry level users

MT300 is a standard stroke orbit, measuring 8MM or 5/16 in orbit size. Paired with the Digital Torque Management, even when applying pressure, the tool is able to maintain pad rotation, which translates to good performance when applying a compound or polish.
MT300 has more power, with a wide variable speed range dial, again along with the Digital Torque Management


Hopefully that gives you a little insight into the technology of both tools. They are both great tools, but the DA Power System has limitations if you are trying to do heavy to severe defect removal.
