  • Meguiars vs. Lake Country Pads

I'm trying to decide between the Meguiar's Soft Buff DA Foam and Lake Country Flat Pads, and what colors to go with.

I just picked up a Griot's Garage 6" Polisher and 5" Backing Plate.

I'm using Ultimate Polish and Ultimate Liquid Wax, and looking to clean up some very fine scratches, add gloss, and add protection.

The below link to Pictures from our Saturday Classes here in Irvine, California should give you a great idea of our Soft Buff DA Foam Discs. We would recommend going with our 5" size for the GG6.

Other members will hopefully chime in on their experience of our discs vs Lake Country.

      First off welcome to MOL.

Can't go wrong with either pad manufacturer. Both brands work very well.

        Thanks Guys!

Which pads would I use for the UP and ULW? Yellow and Black or just Black?

Also, I have the 5" Griots Backing Plate, will the Soft Buff pads stick to that or will I need a Meguiar's Backing Plate?

          Welcome bahac,

As I learned the yellow pads go with the UP and the black for ULW. As you gain more experience, you'll find out this is not exclusive use. Will depend on what you will be trying to accomplish. And your GG backing plate should be fine with the soft buff pads.
