Flagship wax

Hello, i have a older boat pretty well kept .outside of hull is verry good shape but inside is faded some and pron to stains and not really beading water . Iv used the marine / rv cleaner wax. But seams to fade back to previous condition. So would it work better if i used the cleaner wax then used the flagship wax to help preserve the condition longer . From what iv been told the flagship wax also acts as a sealer or is a sealer . Am i misunderstanding ? Does it act as a sealer or is it more like wax . Thanks , chris

Welcome to Meguiar's Online.

Our Flagship Premium Marine Wax utilizes a full synthetic, polymer based formula, which will offer a big difference in protection & durability. Yes, technically this product is a "sealant."

Your presented plan of using #50 Marine/RV Cleaner Wax, followed by Flagship Premium Marine Wax should provide noticeable longer gloss & shine, before reverting back to oxidized.

Another option, which may take a bit more time, but will likely provide more gloss longer, is to use a dedicated cleaner prior to applying wax. Examples would be our #44 Color Restorer or #49 Oxidation Remover. If you want to take it even further, you can use a dedicated cleaner, a dedicated polish like our #45 High Gloss Polish, and then a dedicated wax like Flagship Premium Marine Wax. Opposed to a One Step Cleaner Wax, using dedicated products most often times yields better results, but takes longer.

Are you working by hand or machine? A machine also really helps on fiberglass/gel coat.

Awsome, i do have a orbital polisher / waxer . Cant remember the speed . Want to say it 3500 orbits per min . I could be wrong have to look . Is there a certain seed that i have to use with the cleaner wax and the flagship ? Or just keep moving a good moderate pace ? . Im not looking for that brand new boat shine to be honest , the reflection on the white was awful when it was new . Having very sensitive eyes makes it really bad . Was kinda glad when dulled down some . But i want it to shine a little and be protected

The cleaner/wax followed by Flagship Premium Marine Wax combination should work well based on your preferences. You might even just try a section with only the Flagship Premium Marine Wax.

a orbital polisher/waxer will help you to apply the product more easily. A variable speed dual action polisher would be better for trying to obtain the best results. If the polisher/wax you have is a fixed 3500 OPM's, that will be fine to use for either product.

I will try the flagship in a spot to see what happens .. is there anything i can do about the deck (floor) i know i cant use any wax but wondering is there was maby a sealer or something i could use that wouldnt be slick after scrubbing it clean ? It stains bad

We do not have a sealer for this application which would not be slick. If it is really stained & chalky, our M771 Marine/RV Heavy Duty Oxidation Scrub works great to clean non skid.
