    New to Forum

    Hi everyone,

New to the forum and have intermediate knowledge on detailing and paint preservation. I've been using Meguiar's products for the past 15 years or so. I recently bought a new-to-me 2016 Silverado in a beautiful Deep Ocean Blue Metallic finish. I'm so in love with the truck that I think my wife is getting jealous.

After the first hand washing of my new truck I noticed some swirls that need to be addressed. They aren't bad or deep, so should hopefully be relatively easy to correct. Most of them disappeared with coat of NXT 2.0, but I want to correct them, not hide them. I've been lurking the forums for a while and gathering a lot of good new info. I have a Meguiar's DA Power System shipping to my house tomorrow. Unfortunately, here in central Iowa we're having one of the wetter Junes I can remember. Once the weather straightens up, I'll get it washed, clayed, and start experimenting with the DA Power System.

She's a sharp looking rig, but I want to take it up a notch...

    Re: New to Forum

I spent some quality time with the DA Power System last Sunday. I was very impressed with the results! I can't imagine trying to get a similar result on the entire truck by hand.

After a full wash and clay barring, I took care of the more noticeable areas with the UC and red pad, then followed up the entire truck with the UP and yellow pad. After that I applied ULW with the black finishing pad, and then an application of UQW. I was working in artificial light, but was really please with how the color popped when I was done.

The previous owner had fender flares installed and appeared to have used a rotary buffer to try to fix some of the scratches after removing them. The holograms at the shoulders of the fenders were pretty noticeable, The DA Power System completely removed the holograms and swirls and the added depth to the paint was amazing!

I got one good picture in the daylight the next day. Just my luck, it started raining later that day. I've realized though that it's always going to rain. Rain in the forecast is no reason to not wash a vehicle.

HAPPY to hear you had such great results! I agree on the rain/washing. Rain also doesn't clean the inside!
