I have a cloudy haze on the black vinyl of my center console that I originally thought was sunscreen lotion. I first tried a 10 to 1 solution of degreaser & soft scrub pad hoping it would come off but it actually spread it. I'm thinking doing this abraded the coating instead. I then tried black shoe polish (wax) and it helped a little and then VLR which helped the most, but its still there esp. when the sunlight hits it. I'm starting to think it needs to be re-dyed. Will Back to Black work on this or is there another path I should take. Any guidance is appreciated!

Sunscreen lotion as well as natural body oil can cause this cloudy haze.
Now that you clean it, give Meguiars Ultimate Black a try.
I would definitely not apply shoe polish in any car parts; interior and exterior. -
