    Re: In-Progress: 1986 Porsche 951 (Guards Red)

Well, the day has come.... Today's update is the LAST panel to actually get a compound cut!

It took me a few evenings longer than I expected because I had to remove the large, old, dried-out paint protection film in front of the rear wheel. With that gone though it was just the normal steps I've outlined before. Before long, the last panel on the car was RED! YAY. :-) Now I really need to decide on the LSP so I can order it. Then; start actually polishing some panels and getting final protection on them.

Click the pics to see them in full size/resolution

    Before:

After: I'm still not happy that the previous owner burned-through the edges of the gas door.... but it's such an overall improvement!

A poorly lit shot of the completed passenger's side. I am excited to get this done, out in the sun and some real "after" shots.

Heh! It'll actually get protected after another polish pass. I still haven't decided on an LSP. It'll only move forward when I choose and get it in-hand.

Hey Meguiar's staff: Convince me to use the Ultimate Paste wax or another Meguiar's product by sending out a sample! :-) I promise I'll post about it! (was worth a try I guess)

GLOCKer, I'm looking for more updates on the Explorer too! Consider calling the insurance company to get the rearview mirror reaffixed. They may cover it as a safety issue.

HA! That damn mirror is giving me fits.
My next modification for the Explorer is...

A BOAT! (Hopefully! Still working on the wife. LOL)

Wow that Paint Protection looks like it would not be fun. Extreme Makeover is coming out great.

Great work indeed. I wonder how many work hrs did it take him to get from point 0 to this.
