I usually use Shine-As-You-Dry as a short-term wax-kicker when I wash my car. Obviously, I follow the directions, spraying it on while the car is still wet. Today, I dropped my car off at the dealership, and I just realized they wash the car for me. Putting aside the wisdom of letting the dealer touch my paint (and yes, I am thinking about cancelling the "courtesy wash"), assume the dealer washes my car and I get it back clean but dry. Any concerns about driving it straight home and giving it a layer of Shine-As-You-Dry? Does the formula depend on being diluted by surface water?

Any of our Quik Waxes including A1616 Quik Wax "Shine As You Dry" can be used on either wet or dry paint.
With that said, all of our spray waxes are designed to be used on a clean car, free of dust & dirt.
Our Quik Detailers are designed to lift light dust & dirt safely.
So my only thought on this subject is that if you are driving home from the dealer, you are going to pick up some light dust & dirt, which the spray wax is not necessarily designed to remove. Again with that said, the level of dust & dirt typically will be extremely light, and is not too much to worry about, but if you are keeping your car at a super high defect free level, it is technically not the best process.
Driving home from the dealer, you would be better off using a quik detailer or waterless wash, and then using spray wax if preferred.

Thanks, you exactly answered the question I had... I just wanted to make sure I wasn't going to hear "if it isn't watered down with residual drops from the cleaning, it will be so concentrated it will eat through the paint, and possibly the engine"
The time is past (got this done a few days ago) and since I didn't have a reply yet, I went the safe route with a waterless wash, which based on your point about picking up some dust from the drive home, was what sounds like the best choice. Thanks!
