Removing overspray/paint specks from car

Hello,

I was looking to see if there are any other options besides the clay bar to removing little paint spectacles from a car? I can feel them when i run my hand across and i am able to scrape most by using my fingernail. I recently bought the clay kit and that worked to an certain extent. Most videos and posts i seen say to gently rub the clay but i notice the paint would only go away by applying a bit of pressure. However, that leaves a hazy area when doing that.

Is there any other options that could be tried?

Which clay bar did you buy?

Another alternative would be to use some sort of automotive specific solvent. This is something that you would glove up, apply to a microfiber, dab the area, then wipe. They can be purchased at automotive paint autobody supply, or automotive detail supply stores. We do not make a specific product for this task.

When using an automotive specific solvent to assist in loosening any petroleum based substance, etc., it is best to neutralize afterwards by washing the area treated with a properly diluted car wash soap.

Of course, it will remove your wax protection also.

I used the smooth surface clay kit.

A solvent would be something like goo gone?

question, hoping someone can answer. can you either wax or polish the overspray?

Clay or a solvent is the only answer. I prefer clay and I suggest Meguiar's Professional grade clay...maybe even then the Aggressive Clay http://www.meguiars.com/en/professional/products/ Then polish and wax.

3M has an automotive specific adhesive remover that would likely work. I believe goo gone has an automotive specific cleaner also. Just remember after use, to neutralize the area by washing with car wash soap, then re-wax.

I am inclined to agree with this. The only other option is to use 2000 wet paper followed by M-85, M-105, M-205.
Overspray can be brutal to remedy.
