Pictures from Meguiar's 7/26 Thursday Night Open Garage

Another great Thursday Night Open Garage with many different projects.

    • Using D166 Ultra Polishing Wax to provide defect removal, gloss & protection on a newer used car.
    • M100 Pro Speed Compound via DMC3 DA Microfiber Cutting Disc & MT300 for spot repair scratch removal
    • Scratch Removal/Removal of scouring left from previous attempt to remove scratch with old school rubbing compound by hand
    • Headlight Restoration - Damp Sanding with 3" 3000 Grit by pneumatic D/A tool, M100 Pro Speed Compound, Keep Clear Headlight Coating
    • M100 Pro Speed Compound by hand w/ a X2020 Supreme Shine Microfiber Towel to remove a light scuff.
    • Hot Rims Metal Polish to clean polished Maserati exhaust tips
    • D300 DA Microfiber Correction Compound via DMC5 DA Microfiber Cutting Disc & MT300 for moderate/heavy swirl & scratch repair
    • Ultimate Waterless Wash & Wax to perform a total exterior waterless wash

Before Picture - Unfortunately we did not get an after picture - This night was VERY busy! We used:

    • M100 Pro Speed Compound via DMC3 DA Microfiber Cutting Disc & MT300 for spot repair scratch removal

    Headlight Restoration never gets old!

    • Headlight Restoration - Damp Sanding with 3" 3000 Grit by pneumatic D/A tool, M100 Pro Speed Compound, Keep Clear Headlight Coating

    BEFORE

    BEFORE

DURING - 3000 Grit Foam Finishing disc via Chicago Pnematic 3" D/A Sander, with S3FIS Foam Interface Pad.

    DURING

    AFTER

    • M100 Pro Speed Compound by hand w/ a X2020 Supreme Shine Microfiber Towel to remove a light scuff. (WE WOULD SUGGEST STARTING WITH A W0004 SOFT FOAM APPLICATOR PAD & A LESS AGGRESSIVE PRODUCT, BUT THIS IS WHAT WAS USED BY THE ATTENDEES THAT NIGHT.)

    BEFORE

    DURING

    M100

    AFTER

    • Hot Rims Metal Polish to clean polished Maserati exhaust tips

    AFTER

    VW GTI Isolated Scratch

    • M100 Pro Speed Compound via DMC3 DA Microfiber Cutting Disc & MT300 for spot repair scratch removal - (THIS IS ONE OF OUR ABSOLUTE GO TO COMBINATIONS FOR SOME SERIOUS CUTTING ABILITY. USE CAUTION, WATCH HEAT BUILD UP & ONLY USE WHEN NEEDED) unfortunately again we did not get an after picture due to the night being extremely crazy busy....the scratch was removed to the point it was barely visible, after two section attempts.

    Honda Civic

    • Scratch Removal/Removal of scouring left from previous attempt to remove scratch with old school rubbing compound by hand

    BEFORE

AFTER - Dramatically improved, but anymore would require sanding.

Toyota Tacoma moderate/heavy swirl & scratch repair
    • D300 DA Microfiber Correction Compound via DMC5 DA Microfiber Cutting Disc & MT300 for moderate/heavy swirl & scratch repair

unfortunately we did not get an after picture, the night pace was going extremely fast. D300 via DMC5 & DMC3 removed 99% of these defects. We then followed with D301 DA Microfiber Finishing Wax to remove the light haze, increase gloss, and provide protection.

Re: Pictures from Meguiar's 7/26 Thursday Night Open Garage

It was a very busy night! Even more cars worked on than in images.

I wanted to send a shout out to Brad (B-Rad), Santiago, Alan A-Jokeman and others for helping provide technique enhancements to Robert and I on the Prius Headlights. I also want to mention that these skilled folks were helping others, including Russel and his Mom on his SUV picking up MT300 DA skills. Then on to others, just like they like to do. Thanks Guys for helping others grow skills.
