    Hello folks,

NYC resident, apartment dweller, planning to do basic DIY detailing on my cars. Tired of going to car washes, hence DIY.

Detailing seems very complicated, esp with so many products out there. Would love to hear the suggestion of the experts as what to use for quick DIY details. No car show detailing expected, just I do not want to lose the clearcoat and fade the paint within a few years.

    Thanks in advance.

Welcome to Meguiar's Online! I would like to think you have come to the right place. One of the reasons we have quite a few products is because everyone has different goals, time & expectations. Whether you talk directly to Meguiar's on the phone, through e-mail, at a show, or here through the forum, the first thing we usually like to discuss is:

    • Condition of the Surface?
    • Goals?
    • Tools?
    • Time?
    • Skills & Abilities?

With that said, based on the description of what you are looking for:

Do you have the ability to do a normal two bucket wash method with a couple buckets & a hose? Or are you limited strictly to Waterless Washing?

      Thank you, Nick.

I will post a thread including all the details.

I can do normal 2 bucket wash method, with some hassles, as I do not have access to running water and my parking spot is not the closest to my apt, so will have to make trips to change water. First wash will be tricky but future washes, it should be doable. I can try waterless washing as well and depending on how easy/good it turns out, will finalize.

Just saw your other thread. Will continue discussion there.
